Lapsewatch

Terms of Service

Last updated: 27 August 2026.

These terms govern your use of Lapsewatch, a domain, SSL certificate and DNS monitoring service operated by Kelynda (Stanislav Klacek), a web studio based in Zlín, Czech Republic (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the free domain check, you agree to them.

The service

Lapsewatch checks a domain’s registry expiry date, TLS certificate and DNS records against public data sources — the registry (RDAP), DNS resolvers and a direct TLS connection to the domain. We never ask for access to a registrar, hosting or CMS account, and we don’t renew domains or certificates on your behalf. Checks run on the schedule described on the pricing page — hourly for DNS and reachability, daily for domain expiry and certificates — not continuously, and not as a substitute for uptime monitoring.

Your account

You need an account to add domains beyond the free public check. You’re responsible for keeping your sign-in details safe and for everything that happens through your account. One person or team per account — accounts aren’t meant to be shared across unrelated organizations.

Plans and limits

The Free plan covers up to 5 domains, permanently, with no card required — it’s not a trial that quietly ends. Paid plans (Studio, Agency, Scale) raise the domain cap; current limits and prices are on the pricing page. We charge per domain monitored, never per team member.

Payment and billing

Paid plans are billed through Stripe, using Stripe’s Managed Payments service — Stripe (shown on your statement and at checkout as Link) is the merchant of record for the transaction, not us. Stripe calculates and collects any applicable tax, and sends you the receipt and invoice; we never see or store your card details. Annual billing costs ten months for twelve. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.

Cancelling and downgrading

You can cancel anytime from your account; monitoring continues until the end of the period you already paid for, then the account drops to the Free plan — your domains keep being watched up to the Free plan’s limit, they’re never deleted for non-renewal. If a payment fails, we don’t cut your plan immediately: Stripe retries for several days first.

Alerts sent in your name

On plans that include it, you can have alerts forwarded to your own clients under your name and reply address. You choose what your clients are told, and you’re responsible for that communication — we send it, but the relationship with your client, and what you tell them, is yours.

No uptime guarantee

Lapsewatch is a monitoring and alerting tool, not an infrastructure guarantee. We check on the schedule described above and alert you to what we find; we don’t guarantee we’ll catch every event the instant it happens, and we’re not liable for the consequences of a domain, certificate or DNS record lapsing — renewing them is always your responsibility, not ours.

Fair use

The free domain check is rate-limited per visitor and meant for checking domains you have a legitimate interest in — not for scanning domains you don’t manage. We can suspend accounts that abuse the service, attempt to circumvent limits, or use it to attack or scan infrastructure that isn’t theirs.

Your data

We store the minimum needed to run the service: your account details, the domains you add, and the check results and events for them. Every check we run reads only publicly available registry, DNS and TLS data — never a password, API key, or anything requiring access to your or your clients’ systems.

Intellectual property

Lapsewatch, its name, logo and the software behind it belong to us. Nothing here transfers ownership of them to you. You keep all rights to the data you add — your domain list, client names and notes — and grant us only the licence needed to run the checks and send the alerts you’ve asked for.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. We’ll post the new version here with an updated date; for material changes, we’ll also email the address on your account. Continuing to use Lapsewatch after that counts as accepting the update.

Ending the agreement

We can suspend or close an account for abuse, non-payment, or unlawful use, generally with notice unless the situation requires acting immediately. You can close your account at any time by writing to us.

Warranty and liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including any warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will catch every event before it happens. You use Lapsewatch, and act (or don’t act) on what it tells you, entirely at your own risk and responsibility; we’re not responsible for how you or your team use the service, what you or your clients do based on its alerts, or the consequences of any decision made using it.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim, and we’re not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses — lost business, lost data, or the cost of a domain or certificate that lapsed.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Czech Republic. Nothing here limits any protection you’re entitled to under the mandatory consumer-protection law of your own country, where applicable.
